Collectively we had a super strong amatuer composite team which included the following riders:

1. Roger Aspholm - Category 1

2. Xavier Melendez - Category 2

3. Tony Settle - Category 1

4. David John Tonks - Category 1

5. John Chui - Category 1

6. Jason Beerman - Category 2

7. Jerry kapko -Category 2

8. JP Partland - Category 2

For Jason Beerman, this was a dream come true. In one year, Jason went from a category 5 rider, to riding with the big cats like Davidenko, McCormack, Saunders and others.

Xavier Melendez came off winning 3 races the week prior and during the Tour of Connecticut showed promise to get a big result. Unfortunately on stage 2, another competitor had snapped his bars, taking down Xavier. Xavier is recovering well and we expect to see him for the Tour of Ohio.

Tony Settle was happy to be considered to race in the Tour of Connecticut and the team learned how fast the old guys still are. I know since I am one of them.

David John Tonks coming from Hong Kong and only 2 days in town won his first race at the Floyd Bennet Field series, was shocked at how fast U.S. racing is. Overall David John Tonks rode impressively and was one of a handful of guys to complete the final stage, along with Jerry Kapko.

Our biggest surprise find and addition to Champion System Racing team is Roger Aspholm, a former XC skier from Finland turned cyclists which completed every stage and cracked the top 25! He ending up beating half the professionals getting paid to race.
