| Champion System has had a very successful spring, with riders placing in the top 10 in almost every event we have participated in. With the recent addition of J.P. Kaminsky to our elite team, Champion System was able to create the winning break with David Sommerville, and then later send up strong man Jared Bunde with J.P. to round out the top 10. At this event, our riders scored 2nd, 6th and 8th.
“This isn’t the first time in the last few weeks we have had multiple riders in the top 10,” says Team Director Ray Alba, “The goal of our team is to have as many of our guys in the money, and if we win, then great.”
David Sommerville, Elite Team Director explains, “There is so much pressure put on elite team riders to win races. We don’t believe that pressure is necessary. If our guys do well, then winning eventually will happen and will breed more success. Getting second or third isn’t winning but, it sure ain’t bad.”

In addition to good results, elite team member Chris Jones has also single handedly put Champion System Racing on the NRC map by placing consistently within the top 25 at all the NRC events he has participated in. Most recently he participated in the Mt. Hood stage race where he was 25th overall in the G.C. in a mainly pro field. “By having NRC points, it makes it much easier to attract new sponsors, in addition to keeping our current sponsors happy with our performance,” says Rennie Alba, the teams Sponsorship director, “We need to raise the level of our riders so as a team we can participate in more of the NRC events. I look forward to 2007 where we believe we can make this happen.”
The next challenge for this team is the Tour of Ohio where there will be plenty of competition which includes Toyota United, a team which has made its mark on both the Pro-Tour and the NRC circuit. “It is exciting that I get to ride in a race like this,” says elite team rider Rob Wing, “I have only been racing for a little over a year and to race with guys at this level is an eye opening experience. I am glad I am on this team.”
The full roster will be announced for release in the coming weeks ahead.
